Nepal says it will need billions of dollars to rebuild after the flash floods on the Nepal Tibet border, where the death toll has climbed above 1,200 and rescue teams are still pulling survivors from the wreckage. The confrontation between Iran and the United States widened after Tehran said it had struck US military targets in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates with missiles and drones, while Washington said it was investigating an alleged missile strike on a wedding in southern Iran that killed at least four people and injured dozens. Governments are weighing a response to suspected Russian hybrid warfare and sabotage, Germany tested an Israeli made Lora missile in the North Atlantic amid tensions with Moscow, and police in Bavaria arrested two people after an alleged arson attack at a construction site near the headquarters of defence firm Rohde and Schwarz.
