Israel strikes Beirut's Dahieh suburbs for first time since ceasefire
Israel has carried out an air strike on Beirut's southern suburbs, in the first attack on Dahieh since a ceasefire deal was announced on 16 April.
The strike hit an area where Hezbollah is based.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he personally approved the strike, which he said targeted a commander in Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force.
Local media reports said members of the unit were meeting when the attack happened at around 20:00 local time.
Images posted online showed large flames and at least one building heavily damaged.
There has been no reaction from Hezbollah so far.
The strike puts further pressure on a ceasefire that has not stopped continued exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah.
Most previous Israeli air strikes have hit southern Lebanon, rather than the capital.
According to Lebanon's health ministry, more than 120 people have been killed across the country in the past week alone, including women and children.
