In Ukraine, Russian strikes intensified again as a missile hit Kyiv’s Northern Bridge, injuring two people and forcing traffic to stop, while Germany’s foreign intelligence chief warned that Europe could be drawn into violent conflict with Russia amid shadow war concerns.  🔗 🔗

In the Middle East, Yemen’s military said it had launched more than 1,000 strikes against Houthi targets in a bid to retake territory, and the government later said its forces had recaptured Dhubab and the port city of Mocha as the fighting widened towards Sanaa.  🔗 🔗

In Europe, the euro fell to a 17 month low against the dollar as French debt worries and Spain’s election added to uncertainty, France saw student protests spread with hundreds of schools closed or partially closed, and Spain’s prime minister called a snap general election for 29 November after his government failed to pass housing reforms.  🔗 🔗 🔗 Bosnia’s election pointed to a nationalist shift, with Milorad Dodik declaring victory for his party and analysts saying nationalist and conservative forces had gained ground.  🔗 🔗
