Iran’s six day funeral programme for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei became a mass show of force in Tehran, with huge crowds filling the capital and chanting anti US and anti Israel slogans as the state ceremony turned into a political rally. In Ukraine, Russian strikes killed at least four people, including a child, in the northern city of Sumy and injured 27 more, while Kyiv said its forces hit a major oil terminal in the St Petersburg region and a naval target in Kronstadt during a mass drone attack on Russia.  🔗  🔗

Security tensions widened across Europe and the Middle East. Poland warned the coming months could be critical as it assesses the risk of Russian provocation, while in Lebanon rights groups criticised the Israel Lebanon framework agreement over justice and return clauses and the EU backed the deal, including its call for Hezbollah disarmament.  🔗  🔗  🔗

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers intensified attacks on Palestinian communities, damaging electricity infrastructure, vandalising agricultural property and targeting water and power supplies.
